Metalife acquires B&C Tech, expecting synergy with parent RFHIC
Metalife, KOSDAQ-listed as Korea's first “materials, parts and equipment” special-case company, said on the 28th that it acquired B&C Tech to maximize synergy in defense business.
B&C Tech holds Korea's leading aluminum DIP-brazing technology and military environmental-control technology and takes part in many defense programs. Key defense customers include LIG Nex1 and Israel's ELTA; civilian customers include Park Systems. It makes radar antennas and brazed products for aircraft and missiles, takes part in surveillance programs, and plays a core role in tactical communications (TMMR), missile (Haegung, Cheongung) and UAV micro-SAR programs. Its UAV antennas are exported to ELTA using its own technology.
A Metalife official said the deal should also create synergy with RFHIC's radar system business, and expects growth in overseas defense and industrial sales.
