RF Systems signs agreement with Airbus on the TSS business
RF Systems (CEO Han Ki-woo), an affiliate of RFHIC, was selected as the Asia-Pacific partner for Airbus's TSS (Target Systems & Services) business at ADEX 2023 (Seoul International Aerospace & Defense Exhibition) and signed a memorandum of understanding on the 19th.
TSS simulates weapon systems to provide realistic training. It covers target aircraft, launchers and ground control equipment, and uses Airbus's direct target drones to verify interception performance and support regular live-fire training.
Under the agreement RF Systems will not only install target aircraft and launchers but also operate them, receiving maintenance know-how and operating expertise to build aerial-target operation capability, and plans to expand with Airbus into the domestic and Asia-Pacific markets.
Since creating a new-business division last year, RF Systems has been strengthening its MRO portfolio as demand grows from countries that have bought Korean weapons. Since 2017 it has supplied UAV-mounted antennas and microwave parts to IAI Elta Systems of Israel at more than USD 1 million a year, and is in talks with global defense companies to widen exports. It has also appointed Kyobo Securities as lead manager for a KOSDAQ listing in 2024.
